Welcome To Hayes End
Formerly Lorey Lane Farms, and before that Maple Ridge Stables. Though the name and location has changed, the people and our goals have not. We still strive for a horse & rider team who respect one another and enjoy what they do,whether taking a casual walk through the woods or competing at the highest levels. Though there is not a breeding program at Hayes End, there is a very active showing program. All riders are instilled with good sportsmanship. Showing is only half of the equation however; it is simply a way to show off what you know. There is so much more to horses than just winning (or even showing for that matter). The real goal is to enjoy being with your horse, and your horse to enjoy being with you.
Our History
Hayes End Stud began as Maple Ridge Stables back in November of 2006 outside of Montpelier, Vermont. Situated on 25 rented acres, it was an ideal place to start a stable. In fact, Nicole started out focusing on Thoroughbreds and Anglo-Arabs.
Soon however, the program fell out as Nicole took in other breed horses. Which was fine; everything went comfortably forward until about June of '07, when she once more let her adventurous persona take over and bought into the business of Thoroughbred racing.
The entire farm was moved south to Alton, Kentucky. Alton was just half an hour away from Keeneland Racetrack, which Nicole took advantage of. She had six TB foals in early '08. Again, however, Nicole's mind wandered and she cut down on her Warmbloods and Thoroughbreds to buy back into Arabians. The Arabs were (and
still are)campaigned from our 50 acre facility in Lexington. By the end of the summer, all of the racehorses were gone but three. Currently, there is only one, who is for sale.
A new chapter began in about September of '08. All of the Arabians were slowly geared toward sporthorse disciplines, and ponies began to arrive at the newly named Hayes End Stud. As of now, Hayes End concentrates on Arabian & Pony Sporthorses. There are still a few horses of other breeds at Hayes End, where there are valued just as much as the others. They're for sale though, and are ready for new homes where they can truly shine. The Arabs & Ponies will continue to show, probably taking a winter break after the BSHA January Show until the beginning of March. After that, who knows; we'll just live one day at a time!

Featured Horse for Sale

This weeks featured horse for sale is Expectation. This extremelly well bred young filly oozes potential. She's got a young mind though, and needs things to be taken slow. We've only started her in two events, and then some dressage shows, keeping things slow as her mind catches up with her enormous size. She'd make the perfect project for a more advanced rider who wants to bring their own horse up in the levels of eventing. "Tia", as she is called, is loved by all around the barn with her comically long legs and kind, affectionate nature. As we said, Tia's still growing into herself, but if you bring her along slowly, she'll be your partner for many years to come.
